Who we are
This Privacy Policy describes how personal information is collected, used, and shared when you visit The BBB Blog and any thebbbblog.com page (the “Site”), and applies to all visitors to the Site.
What personal data we collect and why we collect it
The BBB Blog relies on other websites and organizations as data processors for services including but not limited to analytics, user commenting and hosting. Some of these websites operate within the Site as WordPress plugins and overlays. Any website, plug-in, overlay, or embedded media used by The BBB Blog on the Site is herein referred to as a “Connected Service”. Analytics
The BBB Blog uses Google Analytics to understand better how visitors use our site and improve the layout and content of the website. By visiting The BBB Blog, some cookies are created and stored on the visitor’s computer. These cookies may collect among other information the time of the visit, the pages visited, the time spent on each of these pages. Comments
When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.
An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.
Media
If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.
Contact forms (not available yet)
Visitors can contact The BBB Blog by using the Contact Form on our website. In sending us a message, visitors will provide their name and email address. We require this information so that we can reply and also know with whom we are corresponding. Any message that is sent to us are kept on file.
Donations (not available yet)
When a visitor chooses to donate to The BBB Blog, they can do so via our Donate page. To process donations, we use PayPal to facilitate with the donation processing. As a third-party, PayPal places a cookie after visiting the donation page as a means to better recognise its customers. Embedded content from other websites
Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.
These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.
Newsletter (not available yet)
Visitors to The BBB Blog may also subscribe to the monthly newsletter. We use the a Third-Party Marketing Platform to manage our lists of subscribers and to send out the newsletters. To subscribe to our list, visitors are asked to provide a valid email address to which the newsletter is sent.

To help the day-to-day activities and the running of the blog, visitors can support The BBB Blog to pledge their support through the crowdfunding membership platform known as Patreon. To use Patreon, visitors will have to become a patron and share personal information with Patreon. How long we retain your data
If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.
What rights you have over your data
If a visitor has left comments under our blog posts, the visitor may request to receive their personal data we hold in an exported file format. They may also contact us to request any of their personal data we hold to be erased. However, this does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
Where we send your data
Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service.
Our responsibility and legitimate use
The BBB Blog will only use your information for functions that we believe in good faith are necessary to perform our operations throughout the Site or to protect the security or proper functioning of the Site. We will not add you to our email list without your consent, and we will never sell, barter, or otherwise share any of your information with any third parties that are not explicitly acting on behalf of The BBB Blog for the purposes of The BBB Blog’s legitimate operations. In addition, we may disclose your data to comply with applicable laws and regulations to respond to a subpoena, search warrant, or other lawful request for information we receive, or to otherwise protect our rights.
We do not run advertisements or paid content on the Site, nor do we sell, barter, or otherwise commercialize your data to any third-party marketers.
The BBB Blog is not responsible for the data collection policies or practices of any third parties. You agree to not hold us liable for the actions of any of these third parties, even if we would normally be held vicariously liable for their actions, and that you must take legal action against them directly should they commit any tort or other actionable wrong against you.
